Othman's
This policy covers othmansbarbershop.ca, operated by Othman's Barbershop Inc., 321 Lancaster St W, Kitchener, ON N2H 4V4. It does not cover our booking platform, Google, or the social networks we link to — those are separate companies with their own policies, and the relevant ones are named below.
The short version: there is no account to create, nothing to log in to, and nothing to buy here. Unless you fill in the wedding-party enquiry form, we do not collect your name.
What we collect, and when
If you fill in the wedding-party enquiry form. The form asks for your name, email, phone number, which shop you want, the size of your party and whatever you write in the notes. It is sent straight to the shop’s email inbox so we can reply to you. It is not stored in a database, not added to a mailing list, and not used for anything other than answering your enquiry. We use Resend to deliver that email and Cloudflare Turnstile to check the form was filled in by a person rather than a bot.
If you allow analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 for one reason: to make the site work better for our clients. It shows us which pages people use, where they get stuck, and what makes finding a shop or booking a chair harder than it should be — for example, how many people tap through to book, and from which page. We use it to fix the site, not to profile anyone. The events we record name the shop and the kind of action — a call, directions, a booking opened — and never your name, number or anything you type. Timely’s booking pages report their page views to the same Google Analytics account, so we can see how many bookings are completed. Google sets cookies on your device to do this, so we ask first. Until you say yes, Google Consent Mode keeps analytics storage switched off: nothing is written to your device and no identifier is created, though an anonymous, aggregate page count is still recorded. If you say no, it stays that way. Data in Google Analytics is kept for 14 months and then deleted automatically. Google is in the United States, so allowing it means that data leaves Canada.
Automatically, because the site is hosted. Our host, Cloudflare, records standard server log information — the IP address a request came from, the time, the page, the browser — to serve the site and to block attacks. We do not use these logs to identify anyone, and we cannot switch them off without taking the site down.
Two things stored on your device that are not cookies
Your cookie choice is kept in your browser’s local storage so we do not ask twice, and a one-off flag remembers that you have seen the opening animation this visit. Neither is sent anywhere, to us or to anyone else. Clearing your browser data removes both.
What we never do
We do not sell your information, share it with data brokers, or use it for advertising. There is no advertising on this site and no advertising pixel — the ad-related permissions in Google’s consent settings are switched off permanently and the Allow button does not turn them on. We do not send marketing email; if you enquire about a wedding party, you get a reply about your wedding party.
Other companies, where they come in
- Timely — our booking system. Each shop page shows
Timely’s booking page inside it, and Book buttons elsewhere open
bookings.gettimely.com. Either way it is Timely’s page, not ours: it loads only when you scroll to it or press Book, and anything you enter there is covered by Timely’s privacy policy. - Google — Maps links, our Business Profiles, and the reviews shown on each shop page. Those reviews are fetched by our server from Google and shown as text; your browser makes no request to Google to read them. Directions links open Google Maps, which is Google’s site.
- Instagram, Facebook and TikTok — links only. No embedded feeds, no tracking pixels, nothing loads from them until you choose to follow a link.
Deliberately absent: no embedded map, no embedded video player, no web fonts loaded from anyone else, no chat widget, no social pixels. Every font and image on this site is served from our own domain.
Your rights
Under Canada’s PIPEDA you can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, and withdraw consent at any time. For this website that is a short list, because the only thing we hold is an email you sent us.
Email othmansbarbershop@gmail.com and we will answer within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.

Children
We cut children’s hair, but this website is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect anything from them. A booking or an enquiry for a child should come from a parent or guardian.
Changes to this policy
If we add anything that collects data, this page changes first and the date at the top changes with it.
