The family shop in west Kitchener
Looking for a barber near Forest Heights or Highland West? Othman's Westheights is in Driftwood Plaza at 450 Westheights Dr, minutes from Westheights Public School, with free parking right outside the door.
This is the shop families come to, and patience is the reason. We cut children's hair from one month through thirteen years at a discounted rate, and if it is a first haircut we will pair you with a barber who is used to nervous first-timers and will take as long as it takes. Discounted senior cuts for 65+ as well.
The grown-up work is the same standard as the rest of the group: skin fades and tapers blended clean, scissor cuts and textured crops for longer hair, beard shaping lined with a straight razor. Every appointment opens with a consultation, so nobody sits down and hopes for the best.

What we do here
Pick the cut first
Knowing the guard number before you sit down saves five minutes of guessing. Show your barber the name, or just the number.
Skin fade · Mid taper fade · Scissor cut · Mod cut · Crew cut · Beard & hot towel
Skin fade
Bare at the neckline, blended up into length on top. The blend is the whole job — done properly there is no line where one length becomes the next. Grows out fastest, so plan on about three weeks.
Mid taper fade
Softer contrast, starting higher on the head. Holds its shape longer than a skin fade, which makes it the practical pick if you want one cut to carry you.
Scissor cut
Cut entirely with shears, no clippers on top. Point-cut through the ends to take weight out without losing length, so it falls naturally instead of sitting in a block. Grows out well.
Mod cut
A proper side part or a French crop with a real disconnect — the sharp, tailored end of barbering. Ask at Guelph or Waterloo, where we cut these most.
Crew cut
Short and even all over, a little longer at the front. Nothing to style in the morning, and the lowest-maintenance cut we do.
Beard & hot towel
Shaped to your jaw rather than a template, lined with a straight razor, finished with a hot towel. The detail work people come back for.

A discounted children's rate, every day. This is the shop set up for first haircuts. For safety, children's cuts do not include straight-razor work.
Seniors 65 and over
Seniors 65+ are at a discounted rate. Unhurried, no appointment gymnastics — walk in or book, either is fine.

Tell us when you book and we will pair your child with a barber who is used to nervous first-timers, and take as long as it takes.

Do I need an appointment, or can I just walk in?
Yes to both — every shop takes walk-ins, and always has. Booked appointments are seen first so the schedule holds and every cut gets its full time, which means a walk-in waits for the next free chair. Usually that is one cut. Booking online takes under a minute, lets you pick your barber by name, and is the safer bet on a Saturday or after 5 PM.
Are you open right now?
We are open seven days a week. The live status next to our hours shows whether we are open right now and when we close today. Holiday hours are posted in advance on our Instagram and updated here.
Do you cut curly, coily and Afro-textured hair?
Yes, and it is worth saying plainly because people ask. Our barbers cut every hair type and texture — straight, wavy, curly, coily, Afro-textured, fine and coarse. Curls get shaped rather than fought flat, and the consultation covers how your hair actually grows before anything is cut.
